I’ve always appreciated and hated how complex Erik’s and Charles’ characters and relationship is lol. I only hate it because the clear and simple solution here is that these two NEED to band together or mutant kind is pretty much doomed regardless of what they do. They’re the two strongest leaders among the entirety of mutant kind and can actually unify people and give them an opportunity to learn how to use their powers either for good or at the very least to not put others in danger by simply existing. Which i would say is one of the major reasons why regular humans fear mutants so much, they’re just completely unpredictable seeing as an overwhelming majority of them don’t know the extent of what they can do and a lot of them have deadly powers whether they want them or not. For example someone like pyro, imagine being a kid and figuring out you have the ability to control fire lol not exactly the safest person to be around anymore at that point is he whether he’s a child or not.
